Funding and Citizens' participation into the decision-making process

May 26, 2010

It is necessary to have funding to put together local community structures to facilitate and enforce good political governance. This process of facilitating citizens participation into the process of decision-making enforces transparency and accountability. Haiti post-disaster fundings are getting into Haiti for reconstruction or 'refondation' while political and corporate governance are at its lowest level. The funds risk going into a big black hole if this process is not undertaken locally to force transparency and accountability once for all.

Bad political governance has been on the haitian political frontline for the past 200 years of independance. This forstered ill-suited economic and corporate governance. Haiti risks loosing further its path to development if such need to have locally-driven citizen participation into the decision-making process is ignored.
